These courses take place in a non-sales, independent environment where suppliers and vendors to the ice cream industry provide equipment, appliances, small wares, mixes and flavors for students to test and try in a hands-on, 
real-world
 environment.


CURRICULUM

The curricula for our classes are based on four separate and distinct courses of study:

  • General end-user training and education

  • Industry sales training

  • Advanced industry courses

  • Custom frozen dessert consulting and education 


Steve Christensen, the Director and self-appointed Headmaster of Scoop School has been running courses, seminars and workshops in frozen desserts for over 13 years now with over 1000 graduates. The curriculum and workshops have been presented to over 10,000 people either in or looking to enter the retail frozen dessert industry.

The core “end-user” course is a three or five-day course that covers the theory and practical elements of opening and operating an ice cream or frozen dessert business.  The course is designed to be applicable to retailers and wholesalers alike and covers every type of frozen dessert from water ices and sorbets through to frozen custard and premium ice creams.

Students will learn the basic business, finance and marketing techniques to grow their business as well as the hands-on processes of formulating mix, flavor profiles and finished product for retail or wholesale.

The advanced course will include an exclusive tour of a mix manufacturing facility, tours of ice cream stores around St Louis and instruction on complementary food concepts to pair with frozen desserts.  

These courses have equal application and use for those wanting to get into the ice cream or frozen dessert business, those already operating their stores and wanting to grow their business and those in the supplier and vendor segments of the industry. 

Scoop School is a unique frozen dessert education and training facility centrally located in St Louis Missouri that conducts courses to help current and potential ice cream retailers learn more about opening and growing their own ice cream or frozen dessert business.

Courses are based on a theoretical and practical education in all types of frozen desserts and
